You came here to fix a machine, not to read legal pages. Fair enough. This short page explains what Bobbinwise content is, what it is not, and where our responsibility ends.
Please read it once. It takes two minutes, and it tells you how to use our guides safely.
One important note up front: this disclaimer is a general template. It is not legal advice, and it may not fit every situation or every state's rules.
Informational content
What this site is for
Bobbinwise publishes sewing machine setup and troubleshooting guides for home sewists in the United States. Everything here, threading steps, bobbin fixes, tension advice, vintage Singer dating and buying shortlists, is written for general information and education.
Our guides reflect common practice and general experience with home sewing machines. They are not a substitute for your machine's manual, and they are not professional repair advice for your specific situation.
When a fix involves wiring, the motor, internal timing or anything you cannot reach without opening the machine body, we say so. That work belongs at a qualified repair shop.
A honest limit
No guarantee of completeness
We work hard to keep guides accurate and up to date. Still, we cannot promise that every page is complete, current or correct for your exact model and production year.
Manufacturers change parts, tension assemblies and bobbin designs between model runs. Two machines with the same model name can behave differently. Always check your manual first when you have one.
If a step in a guide does not match what you see at your machine, stop and consult the manual or a repair technician before continuing.
Your responsibility
Limitation of liability
You use the information on Bobbinwise at your own risk. When you follow a guide, you are responsible for working safely: unplug the machine before cleaning inside, keep fingers clear of the needle, and stop if anything feels forced.
Bobbinwise is not liable for damage to your machine, your fabric or your project, or for any injury or loss that results from using or relying on our content. This includes direct and indirect damages, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Some fixes are not safe to do yourself. If a machine smells hot, sparks, or the motor will not stop, unplug it and take it to a repair shop. No guide replaces that judgment.
